Walk In Cooler at the Regional Market    Hartford, CT

Billings Media Blasting was recently contracted by Goodison Painting Inc. to media blast 4,000 sq ft. of aluminum walls in a large walk in cooler.  The paint on the aluminum walls had appeared to be failing; therefore the media originally chosen to do the job was crushed walnut shells.  Once the job was started it was quickly noticed that the coating was too tough for crushed walnut shells.  Since Billings Media Blasting is equipped to blast with many materials, crushed glass was used to complete the rest of the job.

Soot Covered Fieldstone Fireplace    Westbrook, CT

Billings Media Blasting was contacted to clean this beautiful 12’ wide by 8’ fieldstone fireplace.  The fireplace had a lot of use in its time and by having so much use it had built up soot on the stones and mortar which was taking away from its character.  These round stones would be very time consuming to clean with any other method other then baking soda blasting.  Billings Media Blasting went in and encapsulated the area around the fireplace and used there truck mounted dust collection system to minimize any mess within the fully furnished house.  You can see the noticeable difference in the pictures below of the fireplace before and after the soda blasting process had been complete.  Also you will not that there is no mess left when Billings Media Blasting leaves a job!

1939 Ford Truck Cab

This project was an in-house job where the customer was very worried about the media blasting process because this cab underneath the paint was in excellent condition.  Due to there not being any noticeable rust it was explained to the customer that crushed walnut shells would be used to strip the paint and bondo without damaging the cab.  You can see the completed cab that no damage was done to the sheet metal.  The only damage you can see now is the damage that was covered up by paint and bondo!

Crushed Glass Blasting of a Concrete Floor for a Three Car Garage

Chriss Hoffman of Regal Painting contacted us with the hope that we could strip multiple layers of floor paint from a concrete floor. We jumped at the opportunity and Successfully stripped the multiple layers and while doing so roughened up the surface in order t leave a better profile for the epoxy floor paint that was to be applied when the blasting was complete. If this may be a project you would be interested in pursuing you can contact Glen Billings of Billings Soda Blasting or CHris Hoffman of Regal Painting located in Glastonbury at 633-3004.

Soda Blasting for Marino Crane

We were contacted by the painter of Mariono Crane to have us come soda blast more intricated parts of a crane that was being repainted. Baking soda blasting is a grreat choice for cranes as well as any other type of equ7ipment because it won't damage rubber seals or lines, it has no grit and is water soluble which means greased areas and bearings are unaffected. Finally a quality that anyone can like is it removes grease, it doesn't smear it around but instead latches on to it and takjes it off. After completing the extremely large and intricate winches we were then contacted by Belltown Motors to blast the horse collars at the end of the boom another hard to prep area in which there were hoses and other obstacles which would make prepping the traditional way extyremely difficult and time consuming.
